Hole No.4

The Royal County Down Golf Club Hole 4

From the elevated tee the view is one of the most breathtaking, and most photographed, in the world of golf.

The questions asked of the player are many, with a sea of gorse from the tee and then a multitude of bunkers. The green is long and narrow, rising slightly from front to back, with large drop-offs to both sides and to the rear. The pitch shots around this green are varied and difficult except from the safe haven at the front of the green.

As with most greens at Royal County Down, putts running from front to back move towards the sea.
