Royal County Down Golf Club

Hole 13

Par 4

Championship (yards): 444
Medal (yards): 422
Stableford (yards): 422
Ladies (yards): 406

A very tough hole and yet one of the most beautiful, with high dunes on both sides of the fairway, banked in gorse and heather. The tee shot must find the fairway. Long and left opens up the green. Anything short and right is blocked out by a large, bunkered dune, although the approach could result in a favourable bounce down to the front of a green which offers some of the most varied and difficult pin positions on the course. There will always be more three putts here than on any other green. The green forms it’s own amphitheatre, which gives it a unique atmosphere.
